Earlier this month, Meridian’s Nancy Dietz discussed blended learning on Brandon Hall Group’s revolutionary podcast, Excellence at Work. This podcast came after a joint webinar between Meridian and BHG earlier in 2022, as well as following Meridian being awarded the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award in 2021 for our work with Johnson Controls. Nancy is not only a thought-leader with 15+ years within the Learning & Development industry, she is also Meridian’s Senior Manager in Training and Development. The podcast explored guidelines for upskilling in the modern era of blended learning with real-life learning obstacles resolved through technology and learning management systems.
The podcast began with a discussion about how we can build, develop, upskill, and reskill people/employees to better align them with the fast-paced evolution of today’s organizations. To successfully do this, we must first determine the skills needed by any organization, department, or individual to fill any skill gaps. Meridian worked closely with Johnson Controls over previous years to accomplish just that with the use of blended learning, as they were trying to provide skill sets to learners outside of their organization worldwide. The use of formal, informal, and experiential learning methods has allowed organizations to build their employee knowledge on various skills with the assistance of an LMS.
