Every learning professional knows that the ATD International Conference & Expo is one of the best annual events to gain a new perspective on ways to better address their learning and talent management challenges, exchange ideas with their peers and make a positive impact on business results or their agency’s mission.
While everyone always wants to talk about chat about cool topics like social learning, virtual reality and AI, many conversations we held on site involved the basics. Attendees were more vocal than in any other year in recent memory about their level of dissatisfaction with the learning management system vendor. Many cited a lackluster experience with a vendor, driven by poor implementations, slow or no resolution of issues and a big lack of flexibility to map the LMS to their organization’s existing needs and processes as key reasons for their disappointment.
Additionally, attendees seem to be eager to find new content. Many are looking for options beyond their long-term providers for new and fresh ideas that their learners will find more engaging. We sent many of our guests in the direction of our amazing content partners to seek out new materials and ideas.
Lastly, most visitors to our booth gushed about the presentation from Oprah – who wouldn’t be keen to share time spent in person with such a passionate keynote speaker!
Everyone at Meridian is looking forward to ATD 2020 in Denver – we hope to see you there!
