Arlington, VA—On December 1, 2022, Meridian Knowledge Solutions celebrated 25 years of providing best-in-class learning solutions to private and public sector customers. To commemorate this milestone, Meridian participated in Britepaths’ Food4Thought program, which assists students experiencing food insecurity over the weekends with food backpacks to take home.
Meridian employees filled seven shopping carts of shelf-stable food and assembled more than 252 food packs for students in the Fairfax, Virginia, area. Meridian assisted six schools, including Westlawn Elementary, Hunters Woods Elementary, Fort Hunt Elementary, Langston Hughes Middle School, Chantilly High School, and Mount Vernon High School.
Meridian’s CEO, Jonna Ward, attended the food-packing event and stated, “This is a program that is so very important and changes the lives of children and early learners in our community. I hold programs like this close to my heart, as no person, let alone a child, should have to experience food insecurity. I’m so pleased that Meridian could make a difference and provide healthy meals to students in the Fairfax area.”
In addition to the food and time generously devoted to the Food4Thought program, Meridian also donated significantly to Britepaths to assist with general community assistance and outreach. Meridian is excited to continue its partnership with Britepaths to ensure no child goes hungry.
About Britepaths Food4Thought Program
Britepaths’ Food4Thought program works with staff and volunteers at participating Fairfax County Public Schools to help them provide healthy meals, drinks, and snacks over the weekend to children who receive free or reduced-price meals during school days. For many of these children, school meals might be the only ones they receive.
