Mitigate Workplace Violence With Foundational Compliance Training

According to a study cited by the CDC, within a 27-year span, approximately 17,865 people were killed due to a workplace homicide. The rate of workplace violence incidents range depending on occupation. From 2015-2019, corrections officers were ranked with the highest rate of nonfatal workplace violence cases, with an average rate of 149.1 occurrences per 1,000 workers (Highlights from a New Report on Indicators of Workplace Violence | Blogs | CDC). Workplace violence is detrimental to not only the internal staff, but the greater community as well. One of the ways to mitigate workplace violence, and keep your employees safe, is to prepare employees and get compliance training right.

Having an LMS that trains employees in government organizations on how to stay safe at work, while simultaneously keeping track of their progress, is essential to lessening the rate of both fatal and nonfatal confrontations. Also, having an LMS that can personalize the learner interface and material to make sure training fits your organization’s individual needs. When needs change, you can adapt accordingly. It can guide them on how to deescalate problems within corrections facilities, and can help them appropriately respond to issues should they arise. With quizzes and assessments embedded in the LMS, organizations can ensure their staff are receiving equal training.

The rate of workplace violence can be lowered with an LMS that is heavily focused on compliance. Not only will this allow federal organizations to turn risk into opportunity, but it will also lead to a better workforce atmosphere.
